Abstract
In order to improve and enhance the performance of modified asphalt and the road performance of the mixture,the Recycle Polyethylene(RPE)with the content of 4%,6%,8%and 10%were selected to modify the matrix asphalt.The penetration,ductility and softening point tests were conducted at different mixing temperatures(160,170 and 180 ℃)under mixing times(1.0,1.5 and 2.0 h).The effects of different modification conditions on the conventional properties of RPE modified asphalt were studied to determine the optimum modification conditions.Under the optimum modification conditions,the mechanical properties of ordinary asphalt mixture and RPE modi-fied asphalt mixture were compared.The road performance of RPE modified asphalt mixture were evaluated by high temperature rutting test,low temperature bending test and water stability test.The results show that the optimum as-phalt content is 5.16%in ordinary asphalt mixture,and the optimum RPE content is 6.5%in RPE modified asphalt mixture;The performance of RPE modified asphalt mixture is the best at mixing temperature of 170 ℃ with 1.5 h mixing time;The mechanical properties of RPE modified asphalt mixture are better than those of ordinary asphalt mixture because high temperature performance and water stability are improved,and the low temperature perfor-mance is reduced.关键词
