Abstract

[Objective]To study the effect of traditional Chinese medicine compound preparation on the treatment of cow ketosis,and to provide theoretical basis for the efficient breeding of cow.[Methods]90 cows with ketosis were selected from A farm and randomly divided into 3 groups:Western medicine group(calcium chloride,glucose,sodium bicarbonate,Coenzyme A and dexamethasone),Chinese herbal compound preparation group(Jiawei Qingan Powder)and Chinese and Western medicine combined group,with 30 cows in each group.Blood ketone value,cure rate,productivity and complication rate within 1 year were compared before and after treatment.[Results]After treatment,blood ketone value decreased in all the three groups,the most significant decrease was found in the combination group,and the cure rate was the highest.The production performance of cows in the combination group was significantly better than that in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine compound preparation group.The incidence of complications in the combination group was significantly lower than that in the western medicine group and the Chinese medicine compound preparation group.[Conclusion]Compared with single western medicine or traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of cow ketosis,the combination of Chinese and Western medicine has better effect,which can reduce blood keto level,improve production performance,and reduce the impact of ketosis on the growth and production of dairy cows.
