Clinical Efficacy of Bagua Abdominal Massage in the Treatment of Mild COVID-19:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Bagua Abdominal Massage in patients with mild CO-VID-19.Methods A randomized controlled study was conducted on 64 patients with mild CO VID-19.Patients were randomly assigned into two groups:the experimental group(33 cases)received Bagua Abdominal Massage in addition to conventional traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment,while the control group(31 cases)received only convention-al TCM treatment.The study compared the time to negative conversion of nucleic acid,resolution time for fever,cough,abdominal pain,appetite,nasal congestion,and runny nose between the two groups.Symptom scores before and after treatment were evaluated,and treatment outcomes were compared.Results The experimental group showed shorter times for nucleic acid conversion,runny nose,cough,chills,decreased appetite,nausea,and relief of abdominal distension/pain compared to the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in symptom scores and nucleic acid-positive time between the two groups before treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,the experimental group had lower scores for runny nose,cough,chills,decreased appetite,nausea,and abdominal distension/pain compared to the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Bagua Abdominal Massage demonstrates significant effectiveness in treating patients with mild COVID-19,leading to a shortened nucleic acid conversion time and rapid relief of respiratory and digestive symp-toms,contributing to a faster recovery.关键词
