Looking ahead to the Second Phase of the Development of Engineering Philosophy in China

Abstract

This article envisions the second phase of the development of engineering philosophy in China.Since its rapid progress at the beginning of this century,thanks to the steadfast support of academicians Lu Yongxiang and Xu Kuangdi,Chinese engineering philosophy has achieved remarkable theoretical outcomes.This success is attributed to the close cross-disciplinary collaboration between the engineering and philosophy communities,who have jointly constructed a theoretical framework for engineering philosophy with engineering ontology as its core.However,as time marches on and the older generation of leaders gradually steps down,the development of engineering philosophy in China urgently needs a fresh infusion of vitality.Consequently,Chinese engineering philosophy has entered a new phase characterized by the continuous deepening and expansion of research content,as well as the rejuvenation of the research team and the emergence of new talents.Looking ahead,we have every reason to believe that with the addition and concerted efforts of more young and talented individuals,Chinese engineering philosophy is poised to achieve even more splendid successes in this second phase,and demonstrate stronger influence and penetration on the international stage.
