摘要
Abstract
Aim:To understand the current status of chronic diseases among empty nesters in Henan Province and its impact on mental status, and to provide reference for the development of preventive and curative measures for chronic disea-ses among empty nesters. Methods:A stratified sampling method was used to collect data from seniors(≥60 years)in 18 cities of Henan Province.Questionnaire survey was performed to understand the current status of chronic diseases among empty nesters.Logistic regression was used to analyze the impact of the current status of chronic diseases on mental status of the empty nesters. Results:Among 3 731 empty nesters, the prevalence of chronic diseases was 52.51%,the prevalence of multiple chronic conditions(MCC)was 20.58%,and the rate of impaired mental status was 34.09%.Logistic regression a-nalysis showed that MCC(OR =1.250,95%CI was 1.008-1.550),the presence of hypertension(OR =1.416,95%CI was 1.198-1.674),malignancy tumor(OR =0.410,95%CI was 0.244-0.688),cerebral stroke(OR =1.593,95%CI was 1.076-2.359),dementia(OR =6.344,95%CI was 4.277-9.412),mental illness(OR =2.161,95%CI was 1.348-3.466)and other diseases(OR =2.040,95%CI was 1.643-2.533)were factors influencing the mental status of empty nesters in Henan Province(P<0.05).Conclusions:The mental impairment status of empty nesters in Henan Province is at a relatively high level,so we should focus on the population with coexistence of multiple diseases and develop precise pre-vention and treatment strategies to reduce the impact of chronic diseases on the mental status of the empty nesters.关键词
