河南省农村居民胎儿期饥荒暴露与成年期肥胖的关联及体力活动的影响
Association of fetal famine exposure and obesity in adulthood among the rural population in Henan Province and the effects of physical activity
摘要
Abstract
Aim:To investigate the association between fetal exposure to famine and obesity in adulthood among the rural population in Henan Province,as well as to explore the potential role of physical activity in this relationship.Methods:A to-tal of 9 069 subjects were selected from The Henan Rural Cohort and allocated into 2 groups based on their birth dates:the fetal famine exposure group and the non-exposure group.The International Physical Activity Questionnaire(IPAQ)was uti-lized to assess the level of physical activity,and the total physical activity value was calculated.Logistic regression was used to analyze the association between fetal famine exposure and different types of obesity,while a linear regression model was employed to examine the association between fetal famine exposure and obesity-related parameters such as BMI,waist circ-umference(WC),waist-to-height ratio(WHtR),and waist-to-hip ratio(WHR).Additionally,the impact of physical activity on the relationship between fetal famine exposure and obesity was assessed.Results:Fetal famine exposure was associated with obesity.When defining obesity based on WC,WHR,and WHtR,respectively,the OR(95%CI)values for fetal famine exposure were 1.23(1.07-1.40),1.41(1.23-1.61)and 1.26(1.09-1.45),respectively,with a stronger association in females.Linear regression model also showed similar positive associations between fetal famine exposure and WC,WHR,and WHtR.However,the adverse effects of fetal famine exposure on obesity and related indicators decreased as levels of physical activity increased.Conclusion:Fetal famine exposure is linked to an increased risk of obesity in adulthood among the rural population in Henan Province;nevertheless,appropriate physical activity can partially mitigate this risk.关键词
