A Survey on Occupational Satisfaction Among Basic Public Health Service Practitioners in Huangpu District of Shanghai

Abstract
Objective To understand the current status of occupational stress,burnout and satisfaction of basic public health service practitioners in Huangpu District of Shanghai and the influencing factors,and to provide the scientific basis for improving the quality and streamlining national basic public health services.Methods The cross-sectional epidemiological survey was conducted among basic public health service practitioners in Huangpu District by the Occupational Stress Scale,the Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey(MBI-GS),and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire(MSQ).Results The median score of occupational stress for basic public health service practitioners in Huangpu District was 45.00 out of 75;the median score of occupational burnout was 45.00 out of 90;the median score of occupational satisfaction was 61.00 out of 100.There was a positive correlation between occupational stress score and occupational burnout score,while both occupational stress score and occupational burnout score were negatively correlated with occupational satisfaction score.The influencing factors of occupational stress,burnout,and satisfaction scores included age,education level,major,department,years of work,technical titles,staffing,and working hours.Conclusion Basic public health service practitioners in Huangpu District suffer from quite severe occupational stress and burnout,and their overall occupational satisfaction is at an average level.Measures should be taken based on the influencing factors to improve the development and management of community health human resources and mobilize the enthusiasm of basic public health service practitioners.关键词
