Abstract

Objective To understand the influence of daily living habits and mental health status on sleep quality of students with nine-year compulsory education in Pudong New Area of Shanghai,so as to provide the scientific basis for improving sleep quality of students.Methods By multi-stage stratified sampling method the online questionnaire QR codes and links were distributed to 1 568 primary and secondary school students for survey in 2022.The mental health and sleep status of students were evaluated using the World Health Organization Five-item Well-Being Index and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),respectively.Results The detection rate of poor sleep quality(PSQI total score>5)among primary and secondary school students in Pudong New Area was 18.4%.The multiple logistic regression analysis showed that psychological health problems,bedtime later than 22:00,daily use of electronic products≥30 minutes,daily breakfast for≤6 days per week were unfavorable factors for sleep quality.Conclution Primary and secondary school students in higher education stages,with mental health issues,going to bed later than 22:00,insufficient bed rest time,using electronic products,consuming snacks,carbonated drinks,and late night snacks are more likely to experience poor sleep quality.
