Abstract

Taking W55SiCrC spring steel as the research object,the effects of heating temperature and time on the surface decarburization of W55SiCrC spring steel were analyzed.The results show that when the heating temperature was below 850℃,the decarburization layer of the spring steel was the ferrite de-carburization layer.When the heating temperature was above 850℃,the decarburization layer of the spring steel was mainly partial decarburization layer.With the increase of heating temperature,the depth of total decarburization layer first increased and then decreased,and reached the maximum value at 1100℃.The depth of the ferrite decarburization layer also increased and then decreased,and finally became stable,reaching the maximum value at 800℃.With prolonging the holding time,the total decarburization layer depth and ferrite decarburization layer depth gradually increased,but the growth tended to slowed down.Therefore,in the actual production process of W55SiCrC spring steel,the heating temperatures of 800℃ and 1100℃ should be avoided,and the billet needs to be heated quickly during the dual-phase re-gion to reduce the residence time in the dual-phase region.
