Structure Division and Main Controlling Factors of Weathered Crust of Low-degree Weathered Volcanic Rocks:A Case Study of Carboniferous Volcanic Rocks in Chepaizi Uplift on Western Margin of Junggar Basin

Abstract
In order to solve the difficulties in dividing the structure of the weathered crust of low-degree weathered volcanic rocks and e-valuating and predicting volcanic rock oil and gas reservoirs,a systematic study was conducted on the petrology,mineralogy,geochemis-try,and reservoir properties of the weathered crust of the Carboniferous volcanic rocks in the Chepaizi Uplift using core,logging and seismic data from 28 wells in the study area.The results showed that the overall weathering degree of the rocks in the study area was rel-atively low.On this basis,a six-layer division scheme is proposed that divides the weathered crust into soil layer,hydrolysis zone,leached zone,disintegration zone,alteration zone,and parent rock zone from top to bottom.A decision tree model combined with SMOTE algorithm was used for the discriminent of the leached zone,disintegration zone,and alteration zone in basalt andesite in the study area by means of spontaneous-potential logging,natural gamma-ray logging,sonic logging,and resistivity well logging data,with an accuracy of 87.8%.Based on comprehensive analysis,it is held that there is heterogeneity in effective reservoir thickness,development degree of structural zones,and horizontal and vertical distribution of the low weathering volcanic rock weathered crust.The development of favora-ble reservoirs is mainly controlled by ancient landform and faulting.The favorable reservoirs developed mainly in leached zone and dis-integration zone,often distributed in slope areas of paleo-geomorphology,with a thickness generally within 350 meters.Affected by faul-ting,the effective reservoir thickness of weathered crust can reach 450 meters.关键词
