摘要

Abstract

Coverage enhancement technologies,including coverage performance enhancement,coverage area optimization,and signal blind area compensate,have been widely discussed as a key issue that needs to be focused on in 6G network.In recent years,Intelligent Reflecting Surface(IRS)has been widely researched in coverage enhancement technologies due to its flexibility in deploying,as well as the low cost of hardware and power consumptions.This paper summarizes the existing IRS assisted coverage enhancement technologies and provides an overview of application scenarios,problem formulations and feasible solutions.Specifically,the detailed discussions are classified into three aspects:large-scale network coverage optimization,small-scale area coverage control and actual deployment testing under discrete phase codebooks.Finally,an outlook for the IRS assisted coverage enhancement technologies are presented,aiming to provide new design ideas for further research on coverage enhancement technologies in this field.
