Key Technologies and Research Progress of RIS-assisted Millimeter Wave Integrated Sensing and Communication

Abstract
The 6G Mobile Networks need to meet multi-dimensional performance requirements simultaneously,from Internet of eve-rything to Intelligence of everything.Therefore,Integrated Sensing and Communication(ISAC)technology that deeply integrates tradi-tional wireless sensing functions such as positioning,detection and imaging and wireless transmission functions is an important develop-ment trend of future 6G networks.Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface(RIS)has become a key enabling technology in 6G due to its abili-ty to intelligently regulate wireless electromagnetic environments through programming,as well as their advantages of low cost,and low power consumption.Thus,it has also given rise to a new research direction of RIS-assisted millimeter wave ISAC and is expected to solve many difficulties and challenges in new 6G scenarios from underlying architecture to complete system level.This article elaborates on the origin and development of RIS assisted millimeter wave ISAC,introduces research background and current research status at home and abroad,points out and discusses key technologies in the research of RIS-assisted millimeter wave ISAC,analyzes some phased achievements and looks forward to some future development and challenges.关键词
