Mechanism and clinical research progress of SMYD2 in common tumors
摘要
Abstract
SET and MYND domain-containing proteins 2(SMYD2)is an important histone methyltransferase belonging to the SMYD family.Its function is to methylate and modify histone and non-histone proteins,regulate downstream target genes and signal pathways,and widely participate in tumors,inflammation,immune disorders,and other diseases.In recent years,the incidence rate of malignant tumors has been increasing year by year,affecting patients'quality of life and imposing a significant financial burden on families and society.The underlying mechanism of tumorigenesis is still unknown,but increasing evidences suggest that abnormal methylation regulation is linked to tumorigenesis.SMYD2 regulates multiple signal pathways,which affects the biological properties of tumor cell proliferation and metastasis,cancer stem cells,and drug resistance.This article reviews the mechanism of SMYD2 in common tumors in order to provide a theoretical basis for SMYD2 and its inhibitor for tumor treatment.关键词
