Effects of Rice-Straw Biochar on Ecological Stoichiometry Characteristics of C,N,P,K and the Integrated Fertility of Reddish Paddy Soil in Double-Rice Cropping Field

Abstract
The impact of rice straw biochar on various soil fertility related traits was assessed in red soil under double-cropping rice system.The study comprised four treatments including no nitrogen fertilizer and biochar(CK),rice straw biochar(B),100%nitrogen fertilizer(N100),and 100%nitrogen fertilizer plus rice straw biochar(N100B).The stoichiometric changes in soil carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium along with other soil fertility related traits were investigated.The results revealed that compared with CK,the soil pH values in B and N100B treatments increased by 0.05 and 0.13 units.Meanwhile,compared with N100,N100B not only significantly increased the soil organic matter,total nitrogen,NO3-,NH4+,microbial biomass carbon,and nitrogen by 5.13%,3.47%,11.7%,14.91%,60.89%and 30.75%respectively,but also increased the stoichiometric ratios of C/N,C/P,C/K,N/P,N/K by 1.88%,2.10%,2.84%,3.62%,5.41%respectively,along with 2.97%improvement in the soil integrated fertility index(IFI).In summary,returning rice straw biochar to the field was found quire effective in improving the stoichiometric characteristics of soil carbon,nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium,as well as the comprehensive soil fertility in double-cropping rice fields.The results of this study provide practical guidance for the rational and efficient use of rice straw resources in the red soil double-cropping rice areas of southern China.关键词
