Expression and Clinical Significance of Long Noncoding RNA Cancer Susceptibility Candidate 8 in Esophageal Cancer

Abstract
Objective To analyze the expression and clinical significance of long non-coding RNA Cancer Susceptibility Candidate 8(CASC8)in esophageal cancer(EC)tissue.Methods Based on the a-nalysis of the cancer genome atlas(TCGA)database and a review of clinical data from 38 patients with EC who underwent surgical treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from February 2018 to February 2019,qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of CASC8 in EC and paracancerous tis-sues.Using patient gender,age,TNM stage,differentiation degree,and lymph node metastasis as observation indicators,the relationship between CASC8 and the above clinical data was analyzed.Results CASC8 showed high expression in EC samples in the TCGA database,and the survival rate of EC patients with high expression of CASC8 decreased(P<0.05),but the correlation with tumor TNM staging was not significant(P>0.05).In the cancer samples collected from EC patients in clinic,the 3-year survival rate of EC patients in the high expression group was significantly lower than that in the low expression CASC8 group.Clinical data analysis showed that the higher the expression of CASC8,the significantly correlated it with differentiation,lymph node metastasis,and TNM staging(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression level of CASC8 in EC tissue is higher than that in paracancerous tissues,and expression of CASC8 are significantly correlated with differentiation,lymph node metastasis,TNM staging and prognosis.CASC8 can be used as one of the indicators for the diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of EC.关键词
