Advances in Methods for Measuring Methane Emissions from Ruminants and Emission Reduction Measures

Abstract
s:As one of the three major greenhouse gases,methane(CH4)constitutes 15%of the total global greenhouse gas emissions.Human activities,particularly those related to production,are the main contributors to CH4 emissions.CH4 released by ruminants during livestock farming accounts for approximately 28%of total human agricultural emissions.The release of CH4 from microbial fermentation in the rumen not only leads to the inefficient utilization of dietary energy(accounting for 2%~12%of total dietary energy),but also contributes to global warming.Therefore,mitigating the production and emission of CH4 in the rumen of ruminants holds significant importance in reducing dietary energy loss and achieving the goal of"Double Carbon".This paper systematically elucidates the formation mechanism,determination methods,and measures for reducing CH4 emissions in the rumen of ruminants,aiming to provide a theoretical foundation for sustainable and low-carbon ruminant breeding practices.关键词
