Research on the Mechanisms of Urban Sustainability: Insights from Wang Shu's Design Based on Real Life

Abstract
In Wang Shu's view, the lack of a fundamental connection between modern city and architectural design and the real world of life has become a major factor affecting urban sustainability. This paper explores Wang Shu's ideal design prototype based on his in-depth reflection on the realities of urban and architectural design during the period in which he won the Pritzker Prize. By analyzing Wang Shu's research reports and dissertations in his student days, this paper reveals his unique insights into urban sustainability. Wang Shu emphasizes that sustainable design must deeply understand and serve daily life in the real world, and creates spaces that are both practical and closely integrated with daily life. He advocates that in order to truly delve into daily life, the architects need to adopt an approach that integrates with the real environment from a humanistic perspective, which not only reveals the richness of real life, but also lays the foundation for sustainable urban development关键词
