Research related to niacin skin flushing response for the diagnosis of depression
摘要
Abstract
The main symptoms of depression are significant and persistent low mood,diminished interest,and lack of pleasure.Because depression is a mental illness with a high incidence,suicide rate,and relapse rate,it has recently drawn attention to how to accurately and effectively recognize and intervene in depression.The niacin skin flush test is a indirect technique for determining the amount of fatty acids present in cell membranes.Numerous studies have shown that depressed individuals have significantly lower niacin skin sensitivity,and the blunted niacin skin flush re-sponse is anticipated to serve as an additional bio-marker for the diagnosis of depression.This article analyzes and summarizes relevant literature from both domestic and international sources,focusing on the mechanism,detection methods,and research progress of the niacin skin flushing response in depression,in order to investigate the value of this method in assisting in the diagnosis of depression,and is expected to serve as a foundation for future research.关键词
