Abstract

Bubble flow regime widely exists in industrial applications such as chemical engineering,petroleum,and power generation,and measuring its main parameters is not only essential for engineering design but also serves as a basis for further development of two-phase flow theoretical models.A miniaturized four-sensor electrical probe is made and a gas-liquid two-phase flow experiment is performed to test the proposed signal process scheme.The two-phase flow is controlled to be in cap-bubble flow regime.This paper presents a new signal processing method by which the interface direction and velocity can be obtained,besides void fraction,interfacial area concentration,bubble chord length and the interface velocity vector through legitimately assuming a direction of the interface velocity.The local flow parameters obtained by the probe measurement are compared with the results from visual measurement technique.The comparison indicates that the above two methods are in good agreement.The four-sensor electrical probe possesses the advantages of simplicity and high efficiency,enabling accurate measurement of parameters such as the interface direction in bubbly flows.Moreover,it can effectively address the measurement of parameters in multi-dimensional two-phase flows.
