Abstract

Homogeneous soil fill dams should be designed with relatively flat slopes to reduce the risk of failure.Due to the non-uniformity of natural soil and changes in boundary conditions,it is difficult to convert actual seepage problems into equivalent numerical problems.The function of the drainage system is crucial.Because it can alter the diving surface and ensure downstream safety.This article proposes the use of finite element method to study the analysis results considering the seepage and stability of earth dams.Seepage analysis can be divided into two categories:steady-state analysis and transient analysis.Based on parameter sensitivity analysis,both seepage and stability studies indicate that considering coupling effects is crucial for the overall stability of earth dams.The research results indicate that coupling analysis is a necessary condition for considering seepage and stability in the design and performance evaluation of earth dams.The downstream and upstream of the dam adopt a slope of 1 ∶ 2.5.For both full and low reservoir conditions,the safety factor(FS)is greater than 1.6,but for other stability considerations,it was found that the FS value is lower than the specified value.The results indicate that the research on seepage control of homogeneous earth dams based on finite element analysis is an effective method.Through finite element analysis,a detailed analysis of the seepage behavior and stability of earth dams can be conducted,thereby guiding the formulation and implementation of seepage control measures.This research result is of great significance for improving the effectiveness of seepage control in reservoir areas and the safety of hydraulic engineering.
