Wireless Body Area Networks Routing Protocol Based on Topology Optimization and Link Awareness

Abstract
In order to solve such problems as descent of link quality and performance caused by frequent changes of network topology during human movement in wireless body area networks(WBAN),the WBAN network topology is optimized according to the human body structure.The WBAN backbone network is established by adding relay nodes to provide relatively stable links between nodes and hubs.Then a routing strategy,or Routing Protocol Based on Topology Optimization and Link Awareness(R-TOLA),applicable to WBAN after topology optimization,is proposed.R-TOLA integrates link quality awareness and cost function to obtain the optimal path by adjusting backbone relay and node relay.Simulation experiments show that the R-TOLA protocol has advantages such as longer network survival time and higher throughput compared with other routing protocols in an environment with frequent changes of human topology network structure.关键词
