Abstract

Curvularia leaf spot is a prominent disease in maize production in China,causing significant dam-age to the leaves,leaf sheaths,and bracts of maize,ultimately affecting the yield and quality.In this study,resistance identification was conducted on 80 maize elitee inbred lines.The findings revealed that most com-monly used inbreds were susceptible to the disease,while some introduced inbreds exhibited high resistance.In the disease identification nursery in Shenyang,approximately 25%of the tested materials demonstrated dis-ease resistance or high disease resistance,whereas around 41%were susceptible or highly susceptible.Simi-larly,in the Fuxin identification disease nursery,approximately 27%of the tested materials showed disease re-sistance or high disease resistance,while approximately 49%were susceptible or highly susceptible.Notably,L269 exhibited high disease resistance in both locations,whereas C167-1,Jun 9058,Zi 330,Huang Zaosi,Zheng 58,and A3 displayed high disease susceptibility in both places.These identification results hold signifi-cant importance for further exploration of resistant germplasm resources,uncovering the genetic mechanism be-hind corn's resistance to Curvularia leaf spot,and cultivating exceptional disease-resistant inbred lines.
