Study on the formation mechanism of speciality identity among undergraduate majored in tourism management

Abstract
This paper constructed a model for the formation mechanism of speciality identity among undergraduate students majored in tourism management on the basis of the research hypotheses which were proposed through summarizing the influencing factors of speciality identity and combining the four dimensions of speciality identity.The undergraduate students majored in tourism management were taken as the research object who were inter-viewed in depth and were surveyed by questionnaire to obtain the first-hand data.The hypothesis for speciality identity model were tested on the basis of analyzing the speciality identity differences in order to reveal the forma-tion mechanism of speciality identity among undergraduate students majored in tourism management.The results showed that the speciality identity among undergraduate students majored in tourism management and its dimen-sions were not very high which still could be improved largely.There are significant differences in speciality identity and its dimensions among undergraduate students majored in tourism management in terms of gender,grade,volunteering,and academic performance.The hypotheses for the formation mechanism model of speciality identity are valid,that is,the factors such as individual,profession,society,industry,and important others have a positive impact on all four dimensions,thus forming a positive impact on speciality identity.There are still many problems that need to be solved urgently in undergraduate tourism education,such as vague training objectives,lack of distinctive courses,and insufficient practical attention.关键词
