Competition Rent Seeking in Professional Sports Clubs in China:Characteristics,Mechanisms and Governance Paths

Abstract
In the new stage of development,the governance of competition rent seeking in professional sports clubs is an inherent requirement for promoting the high-quality development of professional sports in China.Through the methods of literature review,expert interviews and logical analysis,based on defining the concept of rent seeking in the competitions of professional sports clubs,this study summarizes the characteristics of rent seeking in professional sports clubs in China,explains the internal mechanisms of rent seeking,and proposes corresponding governance paths.It suggests that competition rent seeking in professional sports clubs is an unfair profit seeking behavior,characterized by diverse rent objects,multiple methods and harmful results.The competition rent seeking in professional sports clubs in China stems from the inducing effect of the power of rent setting subject,the driving force of rent seeking subject's profit motive,and the lack of regulatory constraints on the subjects of rent setting and rent seeking.On this basis,it proposes governance paths for competition rent seeking in professional sports clubs in China:improving the legal system for constraining competition rent seeking in clubs,perfecting the supervision and punishment mechanism for competition rent seeking subjects in clubs,promoting the transformation of multi-agent governance paradigm from vertical management to flat collaboration and deepening the cognitive level of participants in competition rent seeking in clubs.关键词
