Abstract

In order to investigate the infection with intestinal parasites in rhesus monkeys under laboratory environment,fresh feces from 66 experimental rhesus monkeys were detected for intestinal parasites using direct smear and saturated saline floatation methods,haematological and haematobiochemical indicators as well as anthelmintic efficacy of anthelmintic drugs were evaluated.The results showed that two types of intestinal worm oocysts including Strongyloides and Trichuridae were detected out,with infection rates of 9.1%and 12.1%,respectively,both of which were single infection with low intensify;for the infected monkeys,the haematological indicators(WBC,RBC,HGB,MCH,MCHC,HCT,MCV,PLT,PDW,MPV,PCT,LYMPH,MONO,EO and BASO)and hepatorenal function indicators(ALT,AST,ALP,LDH,TP,BUN and CREA)were not significantly different from those of healthy animals(P>0.05);and the active Strongyloides or Trichuridae could be effectively removed by continuously using ivermectin injection or albendazole ivermectin tablets.In conclusion,the rhesus monkeys were infected with fewer types of intestinal parasites under experimental environment,with low infection rate and intensity,imposing little effect on animal health,and could effectively recover through good feeding management and sound procedure of drug deworming.
