The regulatory mechanism of ferroptosis in bone metabolism

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a novel mode of cell death characterized by intracellular iron overload and excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,which is closely associated with the pathogenesis of many orthopedic diseases.Osteoporosis is a chronic metabolic bone disease characterized by decreased bone mineral density.In recent years,a large number of studies have been conducted to regulate bone homeostasis through ferroptosis to treat osteopo-rosis,and certain results have been obtained,showing a good research prospect.This article summarizes the mechanism and regulation pathway of ferroptosis,explores the correlation be-tween ferroptosis and the pathological mechanism of osteoporo-sis,systematically elaborates on the effect of ferroptosis in osteo-blasts,osteoclasts and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,and sorts out the therapeutic application of ferroptosis for osteo-porosis in order to expand the therapeutic ideas of osteoporosis.关键词
