Annual progress in the treatment of neuroendocrine neoplasms in 2023
摘要
Abstract
Neuroendocrine neoplasms(NENs)are a class of rare tumors originating from peptidergic neurons and neuroendocrine cells.The biological behavior of NENs is highly heterogeneous,which can be indolent,or invasively growing,or even metastatic at early phase.The biological characteristics and prognosis of NENs in different grades and stages are quite different.The research results of NENs announced in 2023 are substantial.In terms of local treatment,two large retrospective studies have established the role of endoscopic ultrasound-guided ablation in insulinoma or small pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor(NET).The necessity of right hemicolectomy for appendiceal NET with a diameter of 1-2 cm has been denied.In the realm of medical treatments,progresses have been made in biologic therapy,targeted therapy,radionuclide therapy,chemotherapy,and immunotherapy.Combinations of different drugs have shown promising therapeutic effects.However,the majority of clinical trials are still limited to phases Ⅰ and Ⅱ,with a relative lack of phase Ⅲ studies.This article will review and summarize the advances in the treatment of NENs in 2023.关键词
