Overview of the molecular characterization of Claudin18.2 and its progress as a therapeutic target in gastric cancer
摘要
Abstract
As a member of the tight junction protein(Claudin,CLDN)family,Claudin18.2(CLDN18.2)is typically expressed exclusively in normal gastric mucosal epithelial cells to maintain normal cellular functions.However,CLDN18.2 is highly expressed in various malignant tumors including gastric cancer under abnormal conditions,making it a promising therapeutic target.Currently,studies focused on research and development of new antitumor drugs targeting CLDN18.2 are very popular,employing diverse drug types and therapeutic strategies.This review aims to provide a concise overview of the molecular characterization of CLDN18.2 and summarize the current research and development status of new drugs/technologies targeting CLDN18.2 in gastric cancer.These include monoclonal antibodies,bispecific antibodies,antibody-drug conjugate,chimeric antigen receptor T-cell immunotherapy,nanobodies and so on.关键词
