Abstract
Objective To investigate the weight loss effect of Chinese medicine Fuyou Formula(FYF)in children with premature breast development.Methods A total of 202 girls of premature breast development with a follow-up time of more than 6 months were collected retrospectively.The patients were divided into a treatment group(received FYF)and a control group(did not receive medication).Totally 114 girls in the treatment group(used for more than 6 months)and 88 in the control group(not used any drug).The physical condition[including body weight,weight standard deviation score(SDS),height,body mass index(BMI)and BMI SDS]and pubertal development indicators[including luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),estradiol(E2),uterine diameter,and ovarian volume)]were observed in the two groups before and after treatment.Results Compared with baseline in the treatment group,the body weight SDS and BMI SDS of the patients decreased at 3 and 6 months of treatment(P＜0.05).During the 3-6 month period of medication,the control of weight and BMI in the treatment group slowed down compared to the first 3 months of medication(P＜0.05);LH,FSH,and uterine length of the treatment group gradually increased after 3 months of treatment(P＜0.05);at 6 months of treatment,FSH,E2,and ovarian volume of the treatment group decreased(P＜0.05),while LH,FSH,E2,uterine length,and ovarian volume of the control group gradually increased(P＜0.05).Compared with the control group during the same period,the growth degrees of body weight,body weight SDS,BMI,and BMI SDS in the treatment group were all reduced(P＜0.05),the uterine length and ovarian volume of the treatment group at 3 months of treatment were lower(P＜0.05),and FSH,E2,uterine length,and ovarian volume of the treatment group at 6 months of treatment were lower(P＜0.05).During the 6-month period of treatment,only 2 cases of mild abdominal discomfort occurred,and all the patients had no rash,poor appetite,diarrhea,etc.Liver and kidney function tests showed no abnormalities.Conclusion FYF for the treatment of precocious puberty has weight loss effect,especially in the first 3 months of medication.关键词
