Abstract

The operation of High-speed Sleeper Trains(HST)overnight conflicts with maintenance time and space.Coordinating the carrying capacity occupied by train operation and maintenance would optimize the allocation of railway transportation resources and improve train service quality and maintenance efficiency.This paper studied the cooperation between the HST in dwelling mode and the segmented rectangular Maintenance Time Window(MTW).Considering the routine maintenance of stations at night,the MTW units were classified as Station MTW and Segment MTW,which composes the MTW Segmentation in the dispatching command.An integer programming model was used for the integrated optimization of train timetabling and maintenance time for the operation day of HST.The objective was to minimize the displacement time of adjacent MTWs and the travel time of trains to reduce the number of MTW segments,which is more conducive to dispatching command transmission and flexible and safe maintenance implementation.In addition,it can also ensure the operation quality of HST.Graph Coloring Problem was used to build arrival-departure track capacity constraints to meet the limit of the number of available tracks.The validity of the model was verified in the case analysis of the Beijing-Guangzhou High Speed Railway and solved by Gurobi.There were 11 MTW segments on the comprehensively optimized timetable,which are 13 fewer than the actual.The maintenance plan within the jurisdiction of each maintenance work base would be more simplified.The operation of 7 pairs of HSTs at stations or in segments did not conflict with the maintenance time.The total travel time had been reduced by 173 minutes,and the number of train stops had been reduced from 82 to 66.Multiple cases had discussed the impact of factors on the dwelling position and time of HST,such as Station MTW,the displacement time of MTWs and the number of arrival-departure tracks.The results provide reference for further optimizing the HST transportation organization and maintenance time scheduling.
