Abstract
Objective To understand the the prevalence of positive status of scoliosis in primary and secondary school students in Jiangbei District,Ningbo City,and analyze the influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of scoliosis in adolescents.Methods A two-stage cluster sampling method was used to select a total of 1 648 students from two primary schools,two middle schools,and two regular high schools in Jiangbei District,Ningbo City as the study subjects.Basic information,dietary and exercise habits,reading and writing habits,backpack behavior,and walking posture were collected through questionnaires.The scoliosis was initially screened by general examination,forward bending tests and scoliosis measuring instrument.The influencing factors of scoliosis were analyzed by Logistic regression.Results A total of 1 639 valid questionnaires were collected,with 113 cases of positive initial screening results for scoliosis among primary and secondary school students,resulting in a detection rate of 6.89%.The detection rate of scoliosis infemales(10.15%)washigherthanthatinmales(4.16%),andthedifferencewasstatisticallysignificant(χ2 =22.730,P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that being female(OR= 2.559,95%CI:1.698-3.855)and being underweight(OR= 1.660,95%CI:1.123-2.455)were risk factors for scoliosis among primary and secondary school students.On the other hand,The frequency of occasional or frequent reminders from parents about correct posture during reading and writing(occasionally OR=0.557,95%CI:0.296-1.051,frequent OR=0.430,95%CI:0.246-0.754)was found to be a protective factor against scoliosis among primary and secondary school students.Conclusions The issue of scoliosis among primary and secondary school students in Jiangbei District is of significant concern.It is crucial to prioritize the health education of female students,enhance student nutrition,and emphasize to parents the importance of reminding students to promptly correct their reading and writing postures.关键词
