摘要

Abstract

The seismic performance of 14 T-shaped partially encased composite(PEC)columns under cyclic horizontal loads was simulated using ABAQUS software.The results show that the hysteresis curve of the T-shaped PEC column is a full parallelogram,and the column exhibits consistent stiffness degradation as well as good energy dissipation capacity and ductility.Raising the strength grade of concrete can increase the initial stiffness of the column,but going too high will decrease the ductility,hasten the stiffness degradation,and degrade the seismic performance of the column.Welding the transverse links in the x and z directions helps to confine the concrete and improve the seismic performance of the column.However,the link spacing should not be larger than 150 mm.A vertical bar set at the inner corner of the T-shaped PEC column and bonded to the transverse links to form a steel cage can significantly improve the seismic performance of the column.
