Abstract

The traditional distribution terminal power system consists of a main power module and a backup power module.The main power module commonly adopts a silicon-based power device based switching power supply,which has significant loss and temperature rise.The backup power supply adopts battery packs or large capacitor banks,which face problems such as short lifespan,low power density,discharge performance affected by temperature,and limited charging and discharging current.To address this issue,a power supply system for substation integrated terminal based on gallium nitride power devices and supercapacitors is proposed,and an overall circuit architecture including main and backup power supplies is designed.On the main power supply side,a type selection method for the rated voltage and current of power switching tubes based on gallium nitride power devices suitable for distribution station scenarios is proposed,and a driving circuit design method based on cascode cascaded gallium nitride power devices is proposed.On the backup power supply side,a design method for the working voltage and capacity of the backup power supply is proposed.Finally,a power supply system based on the key technologies mentioned above is developed,and an experimental environment is built using a power quality tester and a digital wave recorder to test the output stability,energy efficiency,and switching characteristics of the main and backup power supply modules of the power supply system.The experimental results show that the designed power supply system has stable voltage output function and conversion efficiency under abnormal operating conditions and has certain engineering practicality.
