Abstract
The pomelo peel powder was carbonized,and the pomelo peel carbon was treated with etha-nol to prepare a modified pomelo peel carbon adsorbent for the adsorption of methylene blue(MB)in waste-water.The effects of pH,adsorption time,and dosage on the removal rate of MB was studied.The results showed that when the adsorbent dosage was 1 g/L,pH was 7,and adsorption time was 50 min,the removal rate of MB by pomelo peel charcoal was 97.32%,and the maximum adsorption capacity was 88.4 mg/g,which was similar to the performance of high-quality commercial coconut shell charcoal.Scanning electron mi-croscopy(SEM)was used to characterize the appearance of the adsorbent.After carbonization,the surface of the pomelo peel became rougher,with more wrinkles and micropores,and an increase in specific surface ar-ea,which was beneficial for the adsorption of MB.关键词
