Research on leak detection system for supercritical CO2 transmission pipeline

为了减少超临界CO2 输送管道泄漏产生的危害,有必要研究监测泄漏的方法.超临界CO2 管道输送是碳捕集、利用和封存(Carbon Capture,Utilization and Storage,CCUS)全产业链中的关键环节,由于CO2 具有较高焦耳—汤姆逊系数,泄漏中温度大幅下降会使管道韧性下降,极可能造成管道脆性断裂扩展,导致管道断裂和介质泄漏扩散.对超临界CO2 输送管道泄漏特性进行分析,提出了管道泄漏监测和站内泄漏监测的方法、相关仪表选型、报警点的设置及处理方案.研究成果可为超临界CO2 输送管道泄漏监测系统设计提供参考.

To reduce the hazards caused by CO2 leakage during the transmission of supercritical CO2 in a pipeline,it is imperative to investigate methods for leak detection.Supercritical CO2 pipeline transmission is a crucial link in the entire Carbon Capture,Utilization and Storage(CCUS)value chain.Due to the relatively higher Joule-Thomson coefficient of CO2,a significant temperature decrease during leakage can lead to a reduction in pipeline ductility.This,in turn,significantly increases the risk of brittle fracture propagation in pipelines,potentially resulting in pipeline rupture and the dispersion of medium in the pipeline.Through the analysis of CO2 leakage characteristics in supercritical pipelines,this paper proposes methods for both pipeline and station leak detection,selection of relevant instrumentation,positioning of alarm points,and response strategies.The research results can offer reference for the design of leak detection system in the supercritical CO2 transmission pipelines.
