Study of neural networks of reward and inhibitory in people with exercise addiction by fMRI
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To study the neural networks of reward and inhibitory in people with exercise addiction by fMRI.Methods:The exercise addiction inventory(EAI)was used to screen 29 exercise addicted individuals(the addiction group)and 26 individuals without addiction(the control group),who were matched for gender, age and education level. The cue-related stimulation and the Go/NoGo behavior tasks were applied, and all subjects underwent fMRI during task performance. Results:The analysis of brain activation state with the cue-related stimulation showed that, when the patients in the addiction group were stimulated with moving pictures, the activation of the reward network, including the left upper frontal gyrus, the left middle frontal gyrus, the left inferior frontal gyrus and the right anterior cingulate cortex, increased significantly. The comparison of brain activation state with Go and NoGo tasks showed that, the control group had more brain regions with significant inhibitory negative activation, including the right superior temporal gyrus, the right postcentral gyrus, the left postcentral gyrus, the left supramarginal gyrus and the right precentral gyrus, while the addiction group had one brain region of the left postcentral gyrus(P<0.01).Conclusions:The reward network activation in the exercise addicted people stimulated by sports cues is significantly greater, while the inhibitory functional responses of the executive neural network are obviously weakened.关键词
