Terahertz Wave Detection in SnSe2 Thin Films for 6G Communication Applications

Abstract
The sixth-generation(6G)communication technology is currently being developed due to its wide bandwidth,high-speed propagation,and strong confidentiality.It is expected to be commercially a-vailable in 2028.However,the lack of efficient detection methods at room temperature,caused by the low photon energy of electromagnetic waves in the 6G band,is a significant limitation to the technology's ad-vancement.In recent years,the emergence of narrow bandgap nanomaterials has provided a cost-effective and highly sensitive means of detecting terahertz waves.This study proposes a large-area,high-sensitivity thin-film terahertz wave detector.Additionally,it introduces a 532 nm laser and a strong vertical magnetic field for modulation during detection.The study investigates the impact of external fields on detection per-formance and finds that the external field significantly enhances the detection of terahertz waves.Conse-quently,few-layer and multi-layer SnSe2 films under external field modulation demonstrate a noticeable enhancement in terahertz wave detection.This research also confirms the significance of SnSe2 films under external field modulation for the advancement of 6G detection technology.关键词
