摘要
Abstract
This review aimed to summarize the skin care effects of menthol,including cooling effect,antibacterial effect,permeation promotion effect and aromatic soothing effect,and introduced the efficacy of menthol in cosmetic.Menthol produces a cooling sensation by activating TRPM8 receptors and increasing the blood flow of skin.Menthol destroys the structure of the bacteria,and the oxidative stress is enhanced to achieve antibacterial effect.Menthol promotes penetration by changing sebum distribution,regulating intercellular space and calcium ion concentration.Menthol affects cortisol secretion through characteristic odor stimulation,relieves pain and has an aromatic soothing effect.It suggests that menthol can bring soothing,repairing,moisturizing,nourishing,and has an application prospect in skin care products.关键词
