Effectiveness of Different Warming Modes of Forced-Air Warming Blankets in Maintaining Core Body Temperature of Patients After Abdominal Surgery:A Meta-Analysis

Abstract
Objective To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of body-covering and underbody forced-air warming blankets in maintaining core body temperature during the perioperative period for patients undergoing abdominal surgery,so as to provide clinical evidence for selecting appropriate and effective active warming methods for abdominal surgery patients.Methods PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Scopus,Embase,CINAHL,CNKI and Wanfang Database were comprehensively searched through computer retrieval.Randomized Controlled Trials on the effectiveness of body-covering and underbody inflatable warming blankets in maintaining core body temperature of patients undergoing abdominal surgery were collected,and their references were traced.The search period was from the establishment of the databases until March 2023.After independent literature screening,data extraction,and quality assessment by two researchers,the included studies were subjected to Meta-analysis using software Rev Man 5.4.Results A total of five RCTs with a sample size of 373 patients were included in the final analysis.The results of Meta-analysis showed that the underbody forced-air warming blankets increased the intraoperative core body temperature of patients[95%CI:0.13(0.02-0.29),P<0.001],reduced the incidence of inadvertent hypothermia during the perioperative period[95%CI:0.15(0.03-0.79),P=0.020],and reduced the occurrence of postoperative shivering[95%CI:0.17(0.05-0.63),P=0.008].Conclusion The existing evidence suggests that the underbody forced-air warming blankets is effective in maintaining core body temperature during abdominal surgery,and can reduce the risk of unplanned hypothermia and shivering during the perioperative period.关键词
