健康冲击对农村空巢老年家庭贫困脆弱性的影响研究
Effect of health shocks on vulnerability to poverty among rural empty-nest elderly households:The moderating effect of social capital
摘要
Abstract
Objective To analyze the effect of health shocks on the vulnerability to poverty among rural empty-nest elderly households,and to further explore the moderating effect of social capital on the relations be-tween health shocks and vulnerability to poverty,so as to provide empirical evidence for the development of pro-spective health-poverty interventions in the post-poverty era.Methods Based on data from the Shandong Province Rural Elderly Health Cohort Survey,a total of 1,951 rural empty-nest elderly households were included for the study.Two-way fixed effects regression models and propensity score matching difference-in-differences(PSM-DID)model were used to explore the impact of health shocks on the vulnerability to poverty and to test the modera-ting role of social capital in their relationship.Results Health shocks significantly increased the probability of vulnerability to poverty,and social capital played a moderating role in the positive effect of health shocks on the vulnerability to poverty among rural empty-nest elderly households,with the number of years of empty nest(lon-ger),the living arrangement(living with spouse),and the number of children(fewer)mitigating the positive effect of health shocks on poverty vulnerability.Conclusions The governance of health poverty in the post-pover-ty era should focus on the rural empty-nest elderly population,and encourage local governments to take a variety of measures to improve the social capital level of such group,so as to effectively prevent and alleviate the occurrence of health poverty in the future.关键词
