摘要

Abstract

Heavy metal elements can enter the body of animals through feed and accumulate,affecting the safety of animal-derived food and posing risks to human health.Some common heavy metal ions can induce iron-dependent cell death known as ferroptosis.Ferroptosis is a novel form of iron-dependent cell death characterized by the accumulation of iron and reactive oxygen species within cells,ultimately leading to cell death.Modulating cellular ferroptosis to treat or prevent related neurological damage or diseases has become a hot topic in modern medical research,but its functional changes and specific molecular mechanisms still need further exploration.This article mainly reviews the triggering mechanisms of ferroptosis and the relationship between neurotoxicity induced by common heavy metals in feed and ferroptosis,aiming to provide new directions for the treatment and prevention of such neurological injuries in the future.
