左乙拉西坦治疗犬癫痫引发皮疹的不良反应报告
Adverse Reaction Report of Rash Induced by Levetiracetam Treatment for Canine Epilepsy

Abstract
A 5-year-old unneutered female Golden Retriever was presented to Shanghai Naughty Family Animal Hospital due to frequent seizures diagnosed as canine idiopathic epilepsy.As the treatment with phenobarbital was ineffective,levetiracetam was added at a dosage of 22 mg/(kg·bw)as an adjunctive therapy.The following day,the dog's skin around the eyes was red and swollen,and on the fourth day of medication,a generalized rash with pruritus appeared.Upon cessation of the medication as advised by the veterinarian,the skin symptoms completely resolved the next day with no recurrence,confirming a rare cutaneous adverse reaction induced by levetiracetam,unreported domestically.It is recommended that veterinarians remain vigilant to the risk of cutaneous adverse reactions when using levetiracetam,especially during the initial period of treatment,and discontinue the medication promptly upon detection to avoid adverse consequences.关键词
