Progress in research on the function of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase

Abstract
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS)is an important porcine infectious disease caused by the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV).Its main clinical features are reproductive disorders in sows and respiratory diseases in growing and finishing pigs,causing huge losses to the global pig industry.Nsp9 is a non-structural protein of PRRSV that plays an important role in the replication and virulence of PRRSV due to its RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRp)function.The Nsp9 is important for the development of future vaccines,because its sequence is highly conserved and contains a T cell epitope.Nsp9 becomes the center of interaction between virus and host proteins during PRRSV infection,especially in genomic RNA replication and transcription.Herein,we summarize the progress of Nsp9 in research on the genetic variation,viral virulence,interactions with other viral proteins and host proteins affecting viral replication,host immune response regulation,the development of antiviral drugs and vaccines,which will provide novel ideas and strategies for the prevention and control of PRRSV.关键词
