Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of health education based on empowerment theory combined with pulmonary function training on elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Method:A total of 92 patients with COPD who admitted to the 73rd Group Military Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from December 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects,and they were divided into the control group(n=46)and the observation group(n=46)according to the random number table method.The control group was given routine lung function training,while the observation group was given health education based on empowerment theory on the basis of the control group.The St George's respiratory questionnaire(SGRQ)score,lung function,self-efficacy and rehabilitation exercise compliance of two groups before and after intervention were compared.Result:Before intervention,there were no significant differences in SGRQ score,lung function,self-efficacy and rehabilitation exercise compliance between two groups(P>0.05);after intervention,the SGRQ scores of two groups were lower than those before intervention,and that in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);after intervention,the lung function,self-efficacy scores and rehabilitation exercise compliance scores in two groups were higher than those before intervention,and which in the observation group were higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Health education based on empowerment theory combined with pulmonary function training can effectively improve the quality of life of elderly patients with COPD,and improve lung function,self-efficacy and rehabilitation exercise compliance.关键词
