Application Developments of Miniature Imagers for UAV-based Remote Sensing in Forestry
摘要
Abstract
In this paper,we focused on the advancements in lightweight and compact imagers for UAV-based remote sensing(RS),and compre-hensively reviewed its application progress in forestry,such as forest resource monitoring,health assessment and disaster management.Firstly,we introduced several commonly-used imagers for UAVs,including visible-light,multi-spectral,hyper-spectral,thermal infrared,and LiDAR,and elucidated their main characteristics,significant advantages and suitable scenarios.Subsequently,we delved into the specific applications of UAV-based RS technologies in forestry management,and demonstrated their crucial role in enhancing forest monitoring efficiency and accuracy,as well as in disaster response and ecological protection.Finally,we discussed the main challenges and development needs,including optimization of UAV platforms,R&D of UAV-specific imagers,enhancement of data processing and information extraction technologies,and emphasized the importance of integrating interdisciplinary research findings to drive the innovation of RS technologies and their expanded application in forestry.This paper aims to provide a comprehensive perspective for forestry management and researchers to examine the current state and future trends of UAV-based RS technologies,thereby supporting the sustainable management and protection of forest resource.关键词
