摘要
Abstract
Objective:Post-traumatic growth can significantly enhance the quality of life for stroke patients and improve their disease rehabilitation outcomes. The fear of disease progression and family functioning can affect the physical and psychological health of stroke patients and are related to their level of post-traumatic growth. This study aims to investigate the status of post-traumatic growth among patients with first-episode cerebral infarction and its correlation with the fear of disease progression and family functioning,to provide ideas for nursing staff to develop effective positive psychological care programs. Methods:A total of 313 patients with first-episode cerebral infarction who were treated in the Department of Neurology of 4 tertiary-level hospitals in Chengdu from January 2023 to July 2023 were selected as study subjects.A general information questionnaire,a Simplified Scale of Fear of Disease Progression,a family care index questionnaire, and a Simplified Chinese Version of the Post-Traumatic Growth Assessment Scale were used for the survey. The correlations between post-traumatic growth, fear of disease progression, and family functioning were analyzed. Results:The scores for fear of disease progression among patients with first-episode cerebral infarction were 32.04±7.40,and the family functioning scores were 6.06±2.13,with the post-traumatic growth scores at 52.27±11.57,all of which were at a moderate level. The total score of post-traumatic growth was negatively correlated with all dimensions and the total score of fear of disease progression(all P<0.01),and positively correlated with all dimensions and the total score of family functioning(all P<0.01).Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that occupational status, personality, duration of illness, number of other chronic diseases, fear of disease progression, and family functioning were independent factors affecting post-traumatic growth(all P<0.05). Conclusion:The post-traumatic growth of patients with first-episode cerebral infarction is at a moderate level.Their post-traumatic growth is negatively correlated with fear of disease progression and positively correlated with family functioning.Nursing staff can improve the level of post-traumatic growth in patients with first-episode cerebral infarction by decreasing their fear of disease progression and improving their family functioning status, thereby promoting their physical and psychological health and enhancing their quality of life.关键词
