Abstract
The Automatic Identification System(AIS)is composed of shore-based(base station)facilities and shipborne equipment.It is an aids to navigation system applied between ships and the shore as well as between ships.The AIS system,in coordination with the Global Positioning System(GPS),broadcasts via VHF ship dynamics such as ship position,ship speed and course,and ship static data such as ship name,call sign,draft and dangerous goods on board to ships and shore stations in nearby waters,so that neighboring ships and shore stations can be informed without delay the dynamic and static information of all ships on the nearby sea,thus effectively safeguarding the navigation safety of ships.关键词
