Abstract

In the engineering practice of vibration isolation of machines and equipment installed on ships,the floating raft system has been widely used as an efficient passive vibration control method.In order to further improve the vibration reduction effect of the floating raft isolation system,a floating raft isolation system with low internal damping is studied.Its dynamic equation is established using the substructure mobility method.A particle damper consisting of thick-walled aluminum shell and steel balls with different diameters is designed,prepared and installed into the upper or the lower platform of the floating raft isolation system.A sweep excitation is exerted on the floating raft isolation system through a vibration exciter.By comparing the vibration level differences of the system installed with the same mass particle damper and the counterweight,the replacement loss and average replacement loss of the particle damper are defined.Through these indexes,the influences of the installation position,particle size,filling rate,surface roughness of the particle damper on the vibration isolation performance are studied,and the vibration reduction effect of the particle damper is evaluated.The research shows that the particle damper in the floating raft isolation system can play a good role in reducing vibration in a wide frequency band,and the average replacement loss of the particle damper can reach about 4 dB.
