Abstract
Tunnel excavation in sand and pebble formations often faces the problem of disturbing the ground and the difficulty of controlling the stability of the excavated surface,which is a serious threat to the safety of tunnel construction.In this kind of soil-rock mixture,the structure and properties of geotechnical bodies control the deformation of the tunnel and the settlement of the ground surface.Relying on a tunnel project in Guangzhou,this paper investigates the influence of water content and stone content of sand and pebble layer on the shear strength of surrounding rock by means of indoor tests and numerical simulation.The discrete unit method is used to analyse the influence range of the palm surface and the surface settlement law caused by tunnel excavation under different water content.The results show that the shear strength of the surrounding rock in the sand and pebble layer increases with the increase of stone content,but it is inversely proportional to the water content,and when the water content is more than 15%and the stone content is more than 50%,the variation of shear strength is significant.As the water content of the sand and pebble layer increases,the range of influence of the surrounding rock at the face of the tunnel excavation and the maximum ground settlement at the top of the tunnel gradually increase.The research results can provide theoretical reference for tunnel construction and excavation in sand pebble layer.关键词
