《高等桥梁结构理论》英文版教材建设及教学实践

Abstract
The course Advanced Theory of Bridge Structures has always been a compulsory course for graduate students majoring in bridge engineering and is also a specialized course open to international students.Starting from the first semester of the 2017-2018 academic year,the course has been taught entirely in English,targeting both international students and domestic students who choose to study in English.The English version of the textbook for Advanced Theory of Bridge Structures,is based on the Chinese version with appropriate adjustments to its content while maintaining the core material.It was developed as a fully English-language textbook in conjunction with teaching hours and practical teaching experiences.This paper begins by introducing the background of the original Chinese version of the course and textbook,with a focus on providing a detailed description of the thought process behind the development,organization of the table of contents,and the distinctive features of the selected materials for the English version.Additionally,after several years of English-language teaching practice,this paper also discusses the progress of the English version in terms of course development and enhancement of student capabilities.关键词
